Marketing & website
Create a promotion for services
Lower the price of one or more services for a period, by percentage, amount or target price, and set what customers see on the booking page.
In the dashboard
- Menu
- Marketing & website → Win customers back → Promotions
- Who
- Managers with the “Create Discounts and Offers” permission, available starting with the Complete plan.
A promotion lowers the price of individual services for a specific period, for example, “Fall Promotion: 20% off Balayage.” The promotional price applies wherever the price is displayed: booking page, calendar, checkout, and receipt. For codes that customers enter themselves, there's also the Discount codes.
How to create a promotion
- In the menu, open Marketing & website → Win customers back → Promotions.
- Tap Create promotion. The “New promotion” form opens.
- Fill out the three sections (see below).
- Tap Save.
The fields in the form
Offer
| Field | Required | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | For example, “Fall Promotion.” Customers won't see this; it appears in your list. |
| Services | Yes | One or more services from your catalog. |
| Discount type | Yes | Percent, Amount, or Target price. |
| Discount | Yes | For a percentage, enter a value between 1 and 99%. For a fixed amount, enter the euro amount by which the price is reduced. |
Target price is only available as long as exactly one service is selected: You enter the new price, and the regular price appears below it. The target price must be lower than the regular price. If you select a second service, the discount type changes to “Amount.”
Duration
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Start | Left blank means: starts immediately. |
| End | Left blank means: runs until further notice, until you end it. |
Below the dates is a sentence explaining the duration, for example, “Runs from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30 — Starts in 12 days.” If the end date is in the past, Terminz will notify you of this before you save.
Only one promotion per service can run at a time.
Public Display
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Badge text | The label next to the price. If left blank, it displays “Promotion”. |
| Show savings | On by default. Shows how much customers save. |
| Show end date publicly | On by default; only works if an end date is specified. |
| Countdown Days | The number of days before the end when a countdown appears. Leave blank for no countdown. |
Next to the form, the preview “What your customers see” shows the crossed-out old price and the promotional price.
The Strikethrough Price
The email and booking page display the current list price of the service as a strikethrough. This must be a price you actually charge; otherwise, the savings figure is misleading (§ 5 UWG). Therefore, do not increase the list price shortly before a promotion.
What Happens After You Save
- The promotion appears in the list with status Running, Scheduled, Paused, or Ended, along with its duration and effects (bookings and discount granted).
- New bookings for the selected services receive the promotional price.
- An appointment retains the price at which it was booked. If the promotion ends, this customer will still pay the promotional price.
In the list
- The Active button pauses a promotion and resumes it.
- Edit opens the form.
- Duplicate creates a new promotion with the same settings (“Fall Promotion (Copy)”).
- Send as campaign sends an email about the promotion to your customers (requires marketing permission).
- Archive ends the promotion and removes it from the list. You cannot restore it; instead, you'll need to create a new one. Booked appointments retain their price.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I run a promotion just for new customers? Not with a promotion—it applies to everyone who books. You can send targeted offers to specific customer groups via Win customers back → Campaigns.
The promotion is active, but the booking page still shows the old price. Check the status in the list: “Scheduled” doesn't start until the start date, and “Paused” is turned off via the toggle.
