Short version

Terminz is a booking and point-of-sale system for businesses that run on appointments. Online booking, a shared calendar, customer records and a till with the German statutory TSE run in one application. Terminz is built and operated by Bornwerk UG (haftungsbeschränkt) in Dortmund, with servers in Germany.

Long version

Terminz is a booking and point-of-sale system for businesses whose day is made of appointments — hair salons, beauty studios, workshops and law firms alike. Customers book around the clock through the business's own page, the team works in one shared calendar, and payments are taken through a till with a certified technical security device under the German Kassensicherungsverordnung. Rotas, time tracking, customer records, marketing and the DATEV export for the tax adviser are included without add-on modules, and Terminz charges no commission per booking. The product comes from Bornwerk UG (haftungsbeschränkt), based in Dortmund; development, operations and data storage all take place in Germany.

Switching platforms and data lock-in

What businesses run into when they try to get their customer data back off a booking platform, and which export formats are readable at all.

Commission per booking versus a flat monthly price

How the two billing models used by booking portals play out on the margin of a small service business.

Customer data and GDPR in appointment businesses
