Compliance

Legally sound from day one

Online booking and a till touch two laws: the GDPR and the German KassenSichV. Terminz meets both out of the box, so the liability does not land on you.

What the law requires

Seven obligations apply to a service business in Germany. Here is when each started, who it applies to, and what Terminz takes care of.

  • Since 2020

    TSE requirement for electronic tills

    Applies to
Every business with an electronic POS system. An open cash drawer is exempt, but hardly workable alongside digital booking.
    With us
Cloud TSE through Fiskaly, a signature on every receipt, at no extra cost.
  • Since 2020

    Receipt obligation

    Applies to
Every business with an electronic till, on every single transaction.
    With us
A printed receipt, or a QR code the customer scans themselves.
  • Since 2025

Registering your till with the tax office

    Applies to
Every electronic till in use has to be reported to the tax office (§ 146a (4) AO).
    With us
You assemble the report from the dashboard, serial number and TSE details included.
  • Since 2015

    Process documentation under GoBD

    Applies to
Every business keeping digital books. It is asked for at the latest during a cash audit.
    With us
We supply the documentation for the system; you only add the part about your own operation.
  • Since 2025

    Being able to receive e-invoices

    Applies to
Every company doing business with other companies, whatever its size.
    With us
Outgoing invoices are stored audit-proof. What you need in order to receive them is covered in our guide.
  • Since 2022

    Working time records

    Applies to
Every employer has to record the start, end and duration of daily working time.
    With us
Clock in and out on the terminal; corrections and leave go through requests.
  • Since 2018

    GDPR

    Applies to
Anyone processing customer data. An online booking already counts as processing.
    With us
Servers in Germany, DPA included, role permissions and deletion routines.

Two of them in detail

The till requirement and data protection are where most businesses get stuck. Each has its own page.

This page explains the legal position and is not legal advice. For your specific case, please ask your tax adviser or a lawyer.
