Set Up Reviews and Review Requests

Here you can configure how reviews work for your location: whether they appear on your page, whether you approve them first, who can leave a review, and when customers are asked to leave a review after their appointment. You can find this page in the menu under Settings → Customers → Reviews & requests (/manager/settings/customers). It applies to the location selected at the top of the dashboard.

You read and respond to the reviews you've received in a different section (see “Read, Approve, and Respond to Reviews”).

You save all settings at once. As soon as you make a change, the “You have unsaved changes” bar with Save and Discard appears at the bottom. After that, “Review settings have been updated” appears there.

Display Settings

The “Display settings” section affects the public page and website widgets. It has three toggles:

  • Show reviews on public page: “Shared reviews appear on your public page.”
  • Show service ratings publicly: “Average ratings are displayed next to each service.”
  • Allow customers to rate individual services: “Customers can rate individual services, not just the visit.” This toggle also affects the review form.

After resetting to default, the first two are enabled and the option to rate individual services is disabled.

Moderation

In section “Moderation”, you can configure:

  • Moderation mode: “Specify whether new reviews appear immediately or await approval.” You can choose between “Auto-publish all reviews” and “Manual approval required”. This setting affects both the Reviews page and the public page.
  • Allow reviews without appointment: “Anyone can leave a review, not just customers who have completed an appointment.” This toggle affects the review form. By default, it is turned off: only those who had an appointment can leave a review.

Media Settings

Section “Media settings” affects the review form:

  • Allow photo uploads: “Customers can attach photos to their reviews.”
  • Max photos per review: Appears only if photos are allowed. Options: 1, 3, 5, or 10.

Default: Photos allowed, up to 5.

Review Requests

Section “Review requests” affects the review request sent via email:

  • Send review reminder after appointment: “Customers receive an email after their appointment asking them to leave a review.” After their first visit, the customer receives a custom welcome message; after that, the standard message for regular customers is used. If your Google profile is linked, the Google button appears first, followed by the “Leave a Review” button from Terminz.
  • Send reminder after: Appears only if the request is enabled. Options: 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, or 1 week. The request is sent after this waiting period, but only between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. based on your location's time zone. If the time falls later, the email waits until 9 a.m. the next morning. An example with your selected waiting period is displayed directly next to the field.

Default: Request sent 24 hours after the appointment.

Reset to Default

In the top right corner, Reset to defaults resets the page. Before doing so, Terminz shows what will be reset and asks about:

  • Display: Reviews and stars per service visible; reviews of individual services off.
  • Moderation: Publish immediately; publish only after an appointment.
  • Photos: Allowed; up to 5.
  • Review request: On; 24 hours after the appointment.

Any unsaved changes on the page will be lost when you reset.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why isn't a new review appearing on my page? Either the moderation mode is set to “Manual approval required”—in which case you need to approve it in the reviews list—or “Show reviews on public page” is turned off.

When is the review request sent out? After the selected wait time, but never before 9 a.m. or after 8 p.m. local time at your location.

Is there a minimum rating required for automatic publication? Not in the form. There's no toggle for this setting here. You can turn the Google review button in the email on or off under Marketing & Website → Website & Google → Google Profile (“Connect your Google Profile, sync it, and respond to reviews”).
