View Chart of Accounts and Account Balances

The chart of accounts shows which SKR03 accounts the entries generated by Terminz have been posted to, and what the balance of each account is. You can find it in the menu under Financials → Accounting → Chart of accounts (/manager/accounts). It applies to the location selected at the top of the dashboard.

This page is for reading only. It does not represent your complete accounting records: bank statements, fixed assets, and closing entries are missing; these come from your tax advisor. Next to the title, a small help section (“How to read the chart of accounts”) explains the four most important points (see below).

If your “Komplett Kasse” plan expires, the page remains viewable. The note “Your books stay open” will then appear at the top.

Numbers at the Top

A number bar shows the total balance for each account type (“Asset”, “Liability”, “Equity”, “Revenue”, “Expense”) and, as soon as there are income or expense accounts, the Result: income minus expenses for the selected time period. This is an interim figure, not a year-end statement.

Filter

  • Account Type: Chips “All”, “Asset”, “Liability”, “Equity”, “Revenue”, “Expense”.
  • Search: “Search by code or name”. The search is performed in the account number and in the German and English names. If no match is found, “No accounts match your search or filters” appears there.
  • From and To: a time period based on the posting date. The day ends according to the time zone of your location.
  • Quick selection: “This month”, “This quarter”, “This year”, “All time”. Without a time period, all entries are included.

The chart of accounts reloads the accounts as soon as you change the time period. The search and the chips only filter what's already there.

The List

The accounts are grouped by account type. Each group can be expanded or collapsed and displays the number of accounts (“accounts”) and the total balance. An account displays:

  • Code (the SKR03 number) and Account
  • Type (on devices as wide as a tablet)
  • Debit and Credit (on desktop-width screens)
  • Balance, the account balance

On your phone, you'll only see the number, name, and balance. An account with no activity displays the balance in light gray; a negative balance is shown with a minus sign in red. If no transactions have been posted yet, it will show “No accounts found”. If the page won't load: “Failed to load account balances”.

How to Read the Chart of Accounts

Here are the four points in the help section:

  • What gets booked here: Sales at the register, invoices, cancellations and refunds, expenses recorded here, tip payments, wages and commissions, as well as till discrepancies.
  • Debit, credit and the balance: Each account shows its balance on its own page. Cash and expenses are recorded on the debit side; revenue, liabilities, and equity on the credit side. A negative balance means the account is operating contrary to its nature. For the cash account, this is an error, not a result.
  • Revenue accounts hold gross amounts: Accounts 8400, 8300, and 8100 show the gross amount with the tax code. The sales tax is separated only by the DATEV export or your tax advisor. Therefore, do not compare this figure with your net sales.
  • Period and result: The filter is based on posting date. The result at the top is revenue minus expenses for the selected period.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I create or transfer an account here? No, this page is read-only. You can view the individual entries in the posting journal (Finance → Accounting → Posting Journal).

Why don't the revenues match my net sales? The revenue accounts are shown on a gross basis. Sales tax is separated only in the DATEV export.

Where is the sales tax? The chart of accounts does not separate it out. It appears in the financial report under the “VAT” tab, provided your location is subject to sales tax.
