Editing services in table mode

One price in twenty services, a new category for ten rows or your whole price list from Excel: that is what “Bulk edit” (/manager/services/bulk) is for. You open it in Services → Services with the Table mode button next to Add service (only the icon on a phone, and only in the “Services” view). Back to services takes you to the list.

The page shows all services as a table, grouped by category. The first time you open it, the guide “Editing the catalogue as a table” appears. Afterwards you open it with the signpost icon next to the title.

Nothing is saved until you save. Every change stays on the page. On saving, Terminz writes the whole batch in one go, or nothing.

Editing

  • Type into a cell. Click a cell and type. Arrow keys, Tab and Enter move like in a spreadsheet. Changed cells are marked.
  • Paste from Excel. Copy a block from Excel and paste it with Ctrl+V. Values that do not fit are marked red instead of being dropped. If the block is longer than the table, Terminz adds the missing rows itself.
  • Change the order. Drag a row by its handle (“Drag to reorder within the category”). Sorting only works inside one category.
  • Add-ons. Use the arrow on the row to open “Add-ons”: “Add add-on” with a name and “Extra min.”.
  • Undo one row. “Undo the changes in this row” restores it.

The columns: “Service”, “Category”, “Price”, “Duration” (in min), “Buffer before”, “Buffer after”, “VAT” (19%, 7% or Tax-free), “Status” (Active or Archived), “Description” and “Resources”. On a phone the most important ones stay visible. With Columns you pick what to show next to the name. Everything is saved either way. An empty buffer reads “Standort · 15”, the value from the location settings. Buffers are only allowed in steps of the time grid, otherwise the cell says “Only in steps of 15 min”.

You type a new category straight into the “Category” cell: Create “Name”. It is created when you save.

Adding new services

New asks “How many rows?” and adds the rows with Add rows under “New services”. You type them out or paste them from Excel. A row you have not typed anything into is dropped on saving. Remove row takes a new row out again. At most 500 rows at a time.

Changing many rows at once

Tick rows. A bar appears at the top with “3 selected” and these actions:

  • Change price: “By percent”, “By amount” or “Set to”, optionally “Round to full 50 cents”, then Apply. Terminz skips services without a price (“1 service without a price is skipped”).
  • Set duration +15: lengthens all of them by 15 minutes.
  • Set VAT 7%: sets the reduced rate.
  • Archive and Discard (takes back the changes of the selection).

These actions only change the table. Saving happens at the bottom.

Search, filter, page

The search field at the top searches by name. The filter has “Category” and “Archived”. A page holds 100 services; you page on at the bottom.

Saving

As soon as something has changed, the save bar appears at the bottom with “2 changes”, Discard and Save. With errors it says “1 error” and takes you to the first red cell. Saving asks “Save 2 changes?” and says what will happen:

  • “1 service is archived and disappears from booking”
  • “1 new category is created”
  • “3 new services will be created”

On an error nothing is saved: “Nothing was saved — fix the marked cells and try again”. Afterwards it says “Changes saved”.

Frequently asked questions

Why can I not archive a service? If it has open appointments, that only works in the row menu on the list, so the customers get notified.

Can I delete here? No. Archiving replaces deleting, the service stays visible in old appointments and receipts.

Does a buffer switch the buffer on for the location? If you enter a buffer in a row while the buffer is off at the location, Terminz switches it on when you save and says so in the confirmation.
