Set opening hours and display time zone
Enter your opening hours for each weekday, mark days off, set closures and holidays and configure the time zone your team sees times in.
In the dashboard
- Menu
- Settings → Business → Hours & closures
- Who
- Managers with the “Change Business Settings” permission. The “Closures & holidays” section appears only with permission “Create and edit appointments, and after a confirmation also across buffer, break and working hours”. Works in every plan.
Set opening hours and display time zone
The opening hours tell Terminz when your location is open. You can find them in the menu under Settings → Business → Hours & closures (/manager/settings/hours). They apply to the location selected at the top of the dashboard.
These times apply to the booking page, the calendar, the appointment assistant, the checkout, the public page, and the Google profile. Terminz does not offer customers any time slots outside of business hours. Your team can only enter appointments there if you've allowed it in the booking rules (section “Outside opening hours”, see “Set Up Booking Rules”).
Entering Opening Hours
Section “Opening hours” (“Weekly schedule”) displays seven rows, one for each day of the week. Each row has:
- a dot before the day, green if the day is open, gray if it is closed;
- two time fields without labels, separated by a dash: the opening time on the left, the closing time on the right. Type in the field and select the time;
- on the right, a button Close (the day becomes a day off) or Open (the day off becomes open again).
A closed day displays the field “Closed” instead of the times. There is exactly one time window per day, from to. A lunch break or a split day cannot be entered here.
As long as nothing has been saved for the location yet, every day is set to 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday is set to “Closed”.
Changes take effect only when you save. As soon as you make a change, the bar “You have unsaved changes” appears at the bottom with Save and Discard. Saving prompts you again with “Save changes?”. After that, it shows “Business hours were successfully updated”.
Closed Days and Holidays
Section “Closures & holidays” is self-explanatory: “Days or hours nobody can book: public holidays, company holidays, closing early.” Click Manage to access closures (/manager/emergency-actions?tab=business). There, you can set individual days or hours, import holidays, and have closures repeat annually (“Repeat annually”).
This section appears only if you have permission to manage appointments. Holidays and company holidays do not belong in the weekly schedules but should be entered as closures there so that the weekly schedules remain unchanged.
Time Zone
In section “Timezone”, you'll find the Display timezone field. It determines the time zone in which your team sees times in the calendar. The selection is searchable. With “Same as business timezone” (the default setting), the time zone of your location applies. Appointment scheduling and business hours always follow the location's time zone, even if you select something different here. This is useful, for example, if you're in a different time zone than your location.
Booking Grid and Times Outside the Grid
Below the sections, you'll find a note on the booking rules: “Booking grid and appointments outside opening hours:” with the link “Booking rules”. There, you can set the interval at which start times are offered and how far beyond opening hours your team is allowed to book.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I set a day off? Tap Close for the weekday and save.
How do I enter company holidays or a public holiday? Not in the weekly times, but under “Closures & holidays” using Manage.
Can I enter a lunch break? Not here—there's one time slot per day.
I don't see the “Closures & holidays” section. You lack the “Create and edit appointments, and after a confirmation also across buffer, break and working hours” permission.
