Create and Edit Products
Here's how to create shampoo, nail polish, or body oil as a product, including sizes, price, base price, inventory, and how it appears on your site.
In the dashboard
- Menu
- Services → Products
- Who
- Managers with the “Manage Product Inventory” permission. You can create products on any pricing plan, but selling them at the register is only possible with the Complete Register plan.
A product is anything you sell in-store or use during appointments: shampoo, nail polish, body oil, or a gift set. It belongs to exactly one location.
How to Create a Product
- In the menu, open Services → Products.
- Tap Create product. The “New product” form opens.
- Tap Scan the pack if the package has a barcode. Terminz queries Open Beauty Facts and fills in the name, brand, and contents in the empty fields. Anything you've already entered will never be overwritten.
- Enter Name and Price. Nothing else is required.
- Tap Create at the bottom of the form.
Terminz will then display the message: “Skincare oil” has been added. The product appears in your product list. When editing, the button is labeled Save; changes take effect immediately.
The Fields in the Form
At the top are the fields that almost every product needs. The rest are behind More details.
| Field | Required | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Photo | No | A picture of the package. It appears in the list and on your page. |
| Show on your page | No | Toggle switch; off is the default. Visitors will only see the product on your public page when this is turned on. |
| Name | yes | For example, “Care Oil.” |
| Brand | no | For example, the manufacturer. |
| Price | yes | Retail price in euros, with a comma (19.90 €). If your location calculates net prices, the preview shows visitors the final price including sales tax. |
| Pack size | no | Volume of a package as a number, for example, 250. |
| Unit | no | ml, l, g, kg, m, pieces, or sheets. |
| Stock | no | How many packages are currently in stock. Only when creating the listing; you can change this later via “Adjust stock”. |
Under More details, Group Purchase and stock (per size):
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Purchase price | Net price per unit. For your records, to calculate your margin, and for inventory withdrawals. |
| Minimum stock | Once this quantity is reached, “Only a few left” is displayed. If left blank, the default is 5. |
| Barcode | The number on the package, either typed in or scanned with the camera. |
| Product number (SKU) | Your own item number. |
Group On your public page (visible only if “Show on your page” is enabled):
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show price | On by default. If your location hides prices on the page, this applies here as well. |
| Show availability | Displays “Available”, “Only a few left”, or “Sold out”—never the exact number. |
| Show at the top | The product appears first in the product list on your page. |
Group Category and tax:
| Field | Values |
|---|---|
| Category | Free text, for example, “Care.” |
| Tax category | Standard (19%), Reduced (7%), or Zero (0%). The default is Standard. A small business location applies 0% anyway. |
| Type | For sale (Default), Appointments only, or Sale and appointments. “Appointments only” does not appear on your page. |
| Description | Free text for your page. |
| Decorative cosmetics | For nail polish, lipstick, and makeup. In this case, no base price is required. |
Multiple Sizes or Colors
Tap Another size or colour. Each size will then have its own Label (for example, “250 ml” or “Red”), its own price, volume, inventory, barcode, and minimum inventory. If a size has a volume, the description field can be left blank; Terminz will then name it based on the volume.
You can only remove a size once its stock level is 0.
Base Price
Terminz automatically calculates the base price (per 1 L, 1 kg, or 1 m) from the price and volume, as required by the Price Indication Regulation in addition to the price. Example: 250 mL for €19.90 equals €79.60 per 1 L. Packages under 10 mL or 10 g and decorative cosmetics do not require a base price.
What Happens After You Save
- The product appears in the list under Services → Products, with stock and price.
- With “Show on your page”, it appears on your public page, with its own product page.
- It can be sold at checkout and on an appointment invoice (with Komplett Kasse). Each sale reduces the stock.
Change Stock
Tap Adjust stock next to the product in the list and select the reason:
- Stocktake: “How many are there right now?”
- Used in appointments: “How many were used?”
- Damaged or expired
- Correction: plus or minus
- Private use: Packages you take for personal use. They are posted to your withdrawal account at cost. This is only possible at cost and only for sole proprietorships and partnerships.
The inventory never goes below zero. You post a delivery via Receive a delivery, not here.
Product Page
Tap a product in the list. The page displays Sizes and stock and every inventory transaction with its reason (sale, delivery, inventory count, and so on).
Archiving
An archived product disappears from sales and from your page. The inventory and history remain; you can restore it in the Archived tab.
Copy to Another Location
Use Copy to location to add the product to another location within your business. There, it will appear with all sizes and prices, but with a stock level of 0, no photo, and not available online.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I tap “Create”? A required field is still missing: the name, a price for each size, or—if there are multiple sizes—the designation for each size. Above the button, “Still missing: …” indicates the missing field.
Can a customer buy products online? No. Your site displays products, but sales take place in-store.
Where do I specify which products go with a service? Under the service at Matching products. Up to six products; the register will suggest them at checkout.
