Designing the Website in the Editor
Design your location's public page in the editor: sections, order, logo and colors, fonts, Google title, photos, FAQs, hours, then save, publish or go offline.
In the dashboard
- Menu
- Marketing & website → Website & Google → Edit website
- Who
- Managers with the “Change Business Settings” permission, starting with the Komplett plan. Publishing and taking the page offline also requires the “Edit Public Business Page” permission. Only Terminz Support can modify custom CSS.
Designing the Website in the Editor
In the editor, you build your location's public page: which sections it includes, their order and layout, and the colors, photos, and text used. You'll find it in the menu under Marketing & website → Website & Google → Edit website (/manager/marketing/website/editor) or at “Your website” via Open editor (see “Set Up, Publish, and Share Your Website”). It edits the page for the location selected at the top of the dashboard.
If the location does not yet have a page, “No public page yet” will appear there with the “Go to settings” button. You can then create the page at “Your website”.
Editor Layout
There is a bar at the top:
- on the left, the arrow My page (back to “Your website”), the location name, and the status Live, Hidden, or Draft;
- in the center on the computer, three preview buttons: “Desktop preview”, “Tablet preview”, and “Phone preview”;
- on the right, Publish, as long as the page isn't live. Once it's live, the menu “More actions” with View page and Take offline appears there instead.
On the left (on a computer) or below (on a mobile device) is the list of all your settings; on the right is the preview of your actual page. On a mobile device, you can switch between the two using Edit and Preview, and the bar with Hide preview and Show preview closes the small preview above the list. If you tap an area in the preview, that area opens on the left for editing.
The editor's URL supports direct links: ?panel=brand, ?panel=design, ?panel=content, and ?panel=advanced open one of the four settings fields; ?section=<bereich> opens a section, such as ?section=gallery or ?section=faq; and ?panel=legal takes you to the legal pages.
Save and Discard
Any changes you make to the page itself in the editor are not saved until you confirm them. As soon as something changes, the bar “Unsaved changes” appears at the bottom with Save and Discard. “Discard” prompts you first “Discard changes?” and explains: “All unsaved changes will be lost.” If you exit the editor using the arrow My page, Terminz asks the same question. If you close the tab with unsaved changes, the browser will warn you.
After saving, the preview reloads. Saving also updates the location description (“Description saved”).
The process is different for anything that has entries in its own list, such as Gallery, Questions, Equipment, Certifications, Insurance, Areas of Expertise, My Texts, Business Hours, Reviews, and Discount Codes. Each window saves these entries separately when adding, editing, or deleting them, without using the toolbar. The logo, cover image, and icon in the browser tab also upload immediately.
Publishing and Taking Offline
Publish activates the location's public page and publishes the site. Terminz will reject this if the legal notice and privacy policy are incomplete (see “Upload your legal notice, privacy policy, and terms of service”). For this, you'll also need the “Edit Public Business Page” permission.
Take offline prompts “Take page offline?” and explains: “Your page will no longer be publicly reachable. You can publish it again at any time.” The page becomes a draft, but the toggle for the location's public page remains on. You also need “Edit Public Business Page” for this.
The Start List
The list on the left has four sections, from top to bottom.
“How far your page is” lists what's still missing to make the page look complete: cover photo, description, logo, services, photos, hours of operation, legal notice, and privacy policy. Tapping an item takes you directly to where you can complete it. Once all items are complete, “Everything important is in, and your page is online.” appears there, or, for a draft, “Everything important is in. All that's left is to publish.”
“On your page” lists the sections currently on the page. Each line has:
- a handle Drag to reorder: dragging moves the section; the order applies to the page. This can also be done with the keyboard;
- a name and a status bar, for example, “2 Questions” or “No services created yet”. A yellow dot in front of it means something important is missing here;
- an eye icon to show or hide the section (“Hide …”, “Show …”). A hidden section displays “Hidden”;
- an arrow that opens the section for editing.
“Not on your page yet” indicates sections that only appear once you add the first entry (“These sections appear as soon as you add the first entry.”). Use Add to open the section and create the first entry. These are Gallery, Before & After, Promotions & Offers, Products, Equipment, FAQs, Certifications, Insurance, Areas of Expertise, and Custom Text. The other sections (Header, Services, Team, Reviews, Contact Information, Map, Hours, Social Media Links) are always included in the list.
“Look & settings” has five lines: “Logo & colours”, “Fonts & shapes”, “Get found on Google”, “Advanced”, and “Legal pages”. The last one exits the editor and opens the page for the legal notice, privacy policy, and terms of service. If there are unsaved changes, Terminz will ask if you want to discard them first.
Editing a Section
When you click on a section, its page opens on the left. From top to bottom:
- a sentence describing what the section is;
- the section's content (described below depending on the section);
- Heading with Title (up to 80 characters) and Subtitle (up to 200 characters). If you leave a field blank, the default title will appear there. This applies only to Services, Team, Gallery, Before & After, Reviews, Promotions & Offers, Products, Equipment, Frequently Asked Questions, Certifications, Insurance, Areas of Expertise, and Contact Information;
- Display style: small thumbnails from which you select a variant (see below);
- Visibility with the toggle Show on the page. If a section doesn't have an entry yet, it will show “Only appears once you add something above.”
Title, subtitle, display, and visibility are part of the changes you confirm with Save.
Displays
There are fixed layouts for each section. The names on the sketches:
- Header: Image & Text, Text Only, Large Image, Large Heading, Full Screen.
- Services: Grid, List, Price Table, Accordion, and Directory (both “For many services”); Large Maps and Magazine (both “For a few services”).
- Team: Maps, Compact Grid, Portfolio, List of Names.
- Reviews: Swipe, Grid, Minimal, Like a Feed.
- Gallery: Photo Wall, Slide, Grid.
- Contact details: Two-Column, Full Width, Map.
- Before / after: Slide, Side-by-Side.
- Promotions & offers: Cards, One Large, List.
- Products: Automatic (“Adapts to how many there are”), Large Cards (“For a few products”), Shelf, Swipe (“For many products”), List.
- Amenities: Compact, Grid, List.
- Frequent questions: Accordion, Two-column, All open.
Certifications, Insurance, Areas of Expertise, Custom Text, Map, Hours of Operation, and Social Media Links have no variants.
The Sections and Their Content
Header (“Cover image & description”). Here you upload the Cover image (Note: “The large picture at the very top. Landscape works best, at least 1600 pixels wide.”, up to 10 MB) and enter the Description for your location. The description can be up to 400 characters long; a counter shows the current count, and it appears in large text below the location's name. Both apply to the page; the description is the same as for the location itself.
Services, Team, and Products. The content comes from the catalog. This section displays only a note and a button for actual maintenance: Open services, Open staff page, Open products. For products, any item with “Show on your page” enabled will appear.
Gallery. Clicking Add opens “Add photos to gallery”. You can select one or more images (JPG, PNG, or WebP, up to 10 MB each). For each image, you can enter Title (optional) and Description (optional). A toggle switch All photos visible on public page applies to all images. You can't upload anything until you've selected a photo and checked the box Every recognisable person agreed to publication and I can prove it, or nobody is recognisable.. For children and teenagers under 18, you'll also need parental consent. Images are automatically optimized. You can edit an existing photo in window “Edit photo” using Services in this photo (the photo appears with these services and links directly from the gallery to the booking), Image description (for screen readers and search engines, up to 300 characters), and Visible on your page.
Before / After. Use Add to select a Before image and a After image (up to 10 MB each), and optionally a Service (the pair will then appear at the very top of the page for this service), Title (optional) and Description (optional). To upload, both images must be selected and consent must be confirmed. The window notes that, pursuant to Section 11 of the German Law on the Advertising of Medicinal Products, you may not display before-and-after photos of cosmetic surgery or injectable treatments for advertising purposes. When editing, only the title, description, and visibility settings change. To replace the images, delete the entry and create a new one.
Reviews. Here you can choose which approved reviews appear at the top. If you don't make a selection, the page displays the most recent ones. Add opens “Select a review”; there, go to Select in the review section. Selected reviews can be dragged and removed. Only approved reviews are displayed (see “Read, Approve, and Respond to Reviews”).
Promotions & Offers. The list shows your discount codes. The toggle Show on public page for each code determines whether it appears on the page. Only for codes that are displayed can you edit “Public display”: a Badge (optional) (for example, NEW), a description, Mark as featured, and the Sort order. Manage discounts takes you to the discount code page (see “Create, Limit, and Manage Discount Codes”), where you can create the codes yourself.
Features. Add opens “Add amenity” with Icon (searchable, grouped by topic), Label (for example, “Free wiFi”), and Visible on public page.
Frequently Asked Questions. If the list is empty, Terminz offers “Typical questions you can use” with Use, covering topics such as online booking, rescheduling, payment, parking, and first appointments. Use Own question or Add FAQ to create your own: Question and Answer (both required), Category (optional) (for example, “Prices”), and Visible on public page.
Certifications. Name (required, for example, “ISO 9001”), Issuer (optional), Logo URL (optional) (link to an image), Valid until (optional) (date field), and Visible on public page.
Insurance. Name (Required, for example, “AOK”), Insurance type (Public health insurance or private health insurance), Logo URL (optional), and Visible on public page.
Practice Areas. Name (required), Description (optional), Icon (Hammer, Business Law, Real Estate, Family Law), and Visible on public page. This section is intended for businesses such as law firms that advertise their areas of practice.
Custom Text. Custom sections with a heading and text, such as “About Us.” Each block has a Block type (required): text, heading, image, call-to-action, divider, or custom HTML. The fields you see depend on the type:
- Title for text, heading, call-to-action, and image;
- Content for text, heading, and custom HTML;
- Image URL for Image and Call-to-Action;
- Link URL for Call-to-Action and Image;
- Button text only for Call-to-Action;
- Visible on page for every type. A divider has no other fields.
Contact Information. This section displays your location's phone number, email, and address. If any information is missing, it will show “No phone number added”, “No email address added”, or “No address added”. Clicking Edit opens a window with the location's contact information (see “Change your address, email, phone number, and social media profiles”). The Show as separate page toggle moves the contact to a separate /kontakt page instead of placing it on the home page. The navigation link then leads there.
Map. A map showing your address. There's nothing to configure except the visibility toggle.
Hours of Operation. Here you can manage the same hours as under Settings → Location → Hours of Operation & Closed Days (see “Set opening hours and display time zone”). Terminz notes: These hours apply to the entire business; changes affect all areas, not just the public page. Each day, you can create or edit an entry: Weekday (days that have already been assigned are locked), Opening time and Closing time, the toggles Closed, 24 hours, and Note (optional)—for example, “By appointment only.” You can save and delete entries for each day without using the toolbar. “Add day” adds additional days until all 7 days are configured. Unlike the settings page, the entries in this section also include the note and “24 hours”.
Social Media Links. This section displays the profiles associated with the location. You cannot change them here; the Edit in Location & contact button takes you to the management page. If none exist yet, “No social media links yet” appears there.
Logo & Colors
The “Logo & colours” (“Logo, cover photo and your page colour”) field contains:
- Logo: square, appears in the top-left corner of your page and on the booking page, up to 5 MB.
- Cover image: same as in the header, up to 10 MB.
- Colours: the color of your page, which you select from “Suggested colors” or enter as a hex code under Or enter your hex code. If the text on buttons in this color is difficult to read or barely stands out from the background, Terminz will warn you.
- Color scheme: Light, Dark, or Custom. When “Custom” is selected, Text color and Background color appear.
- Review stars: the color of the stars.
The logo and cover image are saved immediately upon upload. The colors are among the changes you confirm with Save.
Fonts & Shapes
The field “Fonts & shapes” (“How headings, buttons and spacing look”) contains:
- Style presets: Five templates (Minimal, Warm, Magazine, Bold, Classic) that set the font, shapes, and spacing all at once. Your colors and content remain the same. If you've made any changes by hand, it will say “Your own style. Tap a preset to start over.”
- Type: Body font and Headings (or “Same as body”), each from “System default”, Inter, Roboto, Open Sans, Montserrat, DM Sans, Poppins, Space Grotesk, Playfair Display, Lora, Fraunces, and Cormorant Garamond. In addition, Heading weight (Automatic, Light, Normal, Bold) and Lettering (Normal or LARGE).
- Shapes: Button shape (Round, Like the Corners, Square) and Corners of cards & images (Square, Light, Medium, Round).
- Spacing & background: Space between sections (Compact, Normal, Spacious) and Section background (Solid Color, Alternating, With Brand Color).
- Page structure: displays the selected layout. Choose another structure opens “Choose a layout”. A layout determines which sections the page has and in what order; colors, font, and logo remain the same. Clicking Use this layout saves it immediately and reloads the page. If you have unsaved changes, Terminz will ask you to confirm via “Discard unsaved changes?” first, because they will be lost in the process. Below that, set How sections are arranged (Strips, Cards, Single Column) and Width on a computer (Narrow, Normal, Wide, Full Width). On a mobile device, the page always uses the full width.
Getting Found on Google
The “Get found on Google” (“The title and text Google and WhatsApp show about you”) field controls what someone sees when they search for you on Google or receive your link via WhatsApp. At the top, “How you appear on Google” shows a preview. The fields:
- Title on Google: the large line in search results; on WhatsApp, it appears in bold above the link. Keep it under 60 characters, otherwise Google will truncate it. If you leave this field blank, Google will automatically display a title based on your location's name.
- Text under the title: two lines below the title. Google truncates the text after about 155 characters. If you leave this field blank, Google will display the beginning of your description or a general sentence including the name and location.
- Search words: separated by commas, for example, your services, your neighborhood, your city. Google pays little attention to this list. It helps you write, as the check shows whether the terms appear in the title or text.
Each field has a question mark with a good example and a weak example. The Ready for Google check shows how far along you are: whether the title is a good length (shorter than 30 characters is too short), the text (under 70 characters is too short), and whether your keywords appear in the title or text.
Advanced
Field “Advanced” (“Browser tab icon and booking button”) contains:
- Browser tab icon: the small image that appears before your page's name in bookmarks and on your phone's home screen. It must be square, at least 512 × 512 pixels, in PNG, JPG, or WebP format, and no larger than 5 MB. If it isn't square, Terminz will crop it to a square. As long as you don't upload one, the page will display the Terminz icon. In Google search results, it will only appear next to the address if the page is hosted under your own domain. It saves immediately upon upload.
- Show the “Book appointment” button: “The button appears on your page while online booking is on.” You can set whether customers can book online in the booking rules.
- Custom CSS: Up to 50,000 characters; inserted directly into the page. Only Terminz support staff can view and edit this field. If your page uses custom CSS, you'll see a note stating that only Terminz support can make changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
I made a change, but the page isn't showing it. Check to see if the “Unsaved changes” bar is at the bottom, and tap Save. Entries in lists such as the gallery or FAQs, however, are saved as soon as you add them.
Why is a section missing from the page? Sections like Gallery, Frequently Asked Questions, or Products only appear once the first entry has been added. Also, “Hidden” in the list indicates that you've turned off the eye icon.
How do I change the order of the sections? In the list “On your page”, use the handle Drag to reorder and confirm with Save. You can change the entire layout under “Fonts & shapes” using Choose another structure.
How do I change the color of the buttons? Select the color for your page under “Logo & colours”. You can change the shape of the buttons under “Fonts & shapes”.
Where do I enter the phone number or address? In the “Contact details” section using Edit, or directly under Settings → Location → Address & Contact.
Can I offer a page in another language? There is no language switch in the editor.
